Tulips and Tigers tie, Pinchbeck and Moulton also held

Spalding United and Holbeach United both earned a share of the spoils in eventful 2-2 draws today.

The Tulips let a two-goal lead slip in their EvoStik Division One South opener away at a Bedworth side who played more than 70 minutes with 10 men.

Two goals from new signing Bradley Wells had put Spalding in control against the Greenbacks who had Kyle Cartwright dismissed.

However, the hosts rallied after the break and halved the deficit just past the hour mark before snatching an equaliser with just seven minutes remaining.

Holbeach had to twice battle back to pocket a point from their UCL Premier Division trip to Cogenhoe.

Stuart Eason got Holbeach back on level terms after the Cooks had taken a third minute lead.

Despite having Jamie Stevens – who had just returned from a suspension – sent off, Holbeach again responded to going a goal behind when Jake Clitheroe headed home a Spencer Tinkler cross.

A third 2-2 draw saw Pinchbeck lose the initiative in their Peterborough League Premier Division clash at Sawtry.

The visitors had led through goals from Brad and Ash Murrell only for Sawtry to score twice in the last 25 minutes to deny Pinchbeck a second successive victory.

Moulton Harrox, after two consecutive 5-0 wins, were held to a 1-1 draw away at Peterborough ICA Sports.

Sutton Bridge are setting the pace in Division One after a 2-1 away win at previously-unbeaten King’s Cliffe while Long Sutton suffered a 6-4 away defeat in a high-scoring clash with Peterborough Polonia.
