Plea for helpers or toddler group will face closure

An established Spalding toddlers group is facing closure unless more volunteers can be urgently found.
Tulip Toddlers meets each Monday morning at the Vista Hall, which is adjacent to St Mary and St Nicolas Church in Churchgate.
More than a dozen families usually attend, but the group’s 12-year existence is now seriously under threat.
Bridget Jones, who organises the weekly group, explained that half of the four-strong team of volunteers are leaving due to a change in personal circumstances.
And unless new helpers come forward Bridget will be forced to close the group’s doors.
She commented: “It would be a great shame if we had to close down.
“The group has been used a lot by people in the area who have found it very worthwhile.
“We have loyal people who come every week, but we can’t keep it running now there’s just two volunteers left.
“It would be impossible to do.”
The group provides numerous activities for pre-school children and also caters for babies.
Anyone interested in helping out would need to be available from 9am-11.15am on Mondays during school term time.
