Fresh appeal for witnesses after new details on Spalding ramraid attempt

Police have reissued an appeal for witnesses after the release of fresh information about an attempted ramraid in Spalding.

The attack happened on Robert Goddard clothes shop in Vine Street in the early hours of Tuesday.

A silver Renault Clio used in the attack was stolen from the Ladywood Road area of Spalding on Monday night.  A telegraph pole was attached to the rear of the vehicle.

At 1:50am on Tuesday the Clio was reversed into the door of the clothes shop. The Clio was later found abandoned on Rangell Gate junction with Fulney Lane.

Spalding community policing inspector Jim Tyner said: “I am asking for anyone with information relating to this to contact Spalding Police on 101.

” Did you see this happening? Did you notice any suspicious activity in the Ladywood Road area? Where has the telegraph pole come from?”
