Five new jobs in pipeline for Baltic bar and restaurant in Spalding

An empty property in Spalding could be brought back into use as a Baltic-themed bar and restaurant, creating about five jobs.

Lithuanian business partners Laura Norvaisaite and Mingele Petruliene have applied for a premises licence for 25 Station Street.
The friends, who run Lithuanian food market Lietuviškas skonis in Holbeach Road, have agreed an eight-year lease on the Station Street property (pictured). It has been empty for a number of years and was formerly used as a Greek-themed restaurant.

Laura (29) said: “The Holbeach Road shop does Lithuanian food, including takeaway, and it’s popular so we thought we would try a restaurant.
“English people love our food as well.”

They expect to have 30 covers upstairs and will be hiring a chef, bar staff and waiting staff.
The business partners opened Lietuviškas skonis in September 2014 and have run a coffee shop in Boston for the past year.

Representations about the application must be made to South Holland District Council’s licensing team at the district council by April 18.
