Live theatre company trades on creating a stir with outdoor performance in Spalding

Singing seed traders passed through Spalding on Saturday (Oct 31), interacting with market users, and set up their stall for a new kind of trade.

Following the success of outdoor theatre performance Burntwater in Spalding last year, district-wide arts programme Transported recommissioned acclaimed theatre makers Tangled Feet to return to continue their trading and evocation of the past in a specially devised performance – Trade.

Using the regular hiring fair of previous markets as inspiration, Tangled Feet asked: ” If you could trade your job today, what would your dream job be?”

Trade also tied in with another Transported project, the Spalding public art trail, in which they have been working with a steering group to create artworks which will be inspired by Spalding’s market town heritage.

Trade was part of Transported’s various events for the nationwide arts initiative the Get Creative Family Arts Festival, a month long celebration of family arts activities
