Annie’s £201 from Peterborough fun run is a real result

Spalding nine-year-old Annie Carter’s first venture into sponsored fun running raised £201 for children’s charity Barnado’s.

As part of the Perkins Great Eastern Run in Peterborough, Annie completed the 5km (3.1 miles) of the Anna’s Hope Fun Run, with mum Cheryl in 30.20mins, finishing 354th out of over 1,300 taking part.

Dad Darren said: “It’s the first time she has ever done anything like this, but asked to do it after she saw others last year whilst watching me do the half marathon.”

Annie chose to support Barnardo’s after attending a mass choir concent at the South Bank in London in July with Spalding Parish Church Day School.

Annie thanks everyone for sponsorship and supporting her thoughout.
