Bowls club’s £500 for PHAB

A club for disabled people can look forward to a fun-filled future after it received a welcome donation from bowls players.
Spalding and District Indoor Bowls Club handed over a cheque for £500 to the local PHAB group after choosing the group as its chosen charity for the year.
Group and committee members of PHAB went along to receive the cheque from bowls players.
The money was raised through a series of events and fundraising efforts throughout the year overseen by the bowls club’s ladies section.
Club treasurer Julie Hicks said they were delighted to hand over such a terrific amount to PHAB.
She said: “We do a lot during the year, including sales of nearly new bowling clothes and shoes, a produce sale, an oddments jar to collect loose change and then a competition to guess how much is in the jar, as well as a competition between the ladies’ president team and the men’s president team.
“It was really good to hand over the cheque to such a good cause.”
