Day at the Movies for Whaplode flower festival

Hollywood hits and British blockbusters were represented at a successful flower festival on the theme of a Day at the Movies.
Whaplode’s St Mary’s Church hosted its annual event from Friday until Tuesday, and as well as the floral displays, there was fresh produce, bric-a-brac and book and jigsaw stalls.
There was also the chance for visitors to find out more about the historic Norman Church with free tours during the festival, and refreshments were available.
Whaplode Village Hall also hosted a Transported Lightship display on Saturday and Sunday and on Monday there was a craft fair, where local crafters showed off their wares.
The festival closed on Tuesday with a traditional hog roast.
