Police investigate shooting of cat

Police are investigating the shooting of a cat in Whaplode.

A BB gun pellet went through Alfie’s bowel five times and clipped a kidney.

After the incident on Saturday, he underwent a £1,000 operation and returned home to High Road in a lot of discomfort on Monday.
Owner Shelley Flounders has been door-knocking and dropping leaflets nearby.
She said: “I’d like to find out who’s responsible but I also want to warn other pet owners.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to is really shocked.
“We’ve got two other cats and a dog and we’re frightened to let them out.”

Long-haired Alfie was shot between 8am and 9.30am.
He had crawled under a bed and was found later with his bloodied wound.
Shelley said: “I can’t believe anybody would have done that to him.”
