LETTER: Thanks for supporting time in office

With the induction process for councillors in full swing and a number of those of us who were privileged to be re-elected, now adjusting to their new appointments, it is a good time to say many a thank you.

Firstly, to all of you, who placed their trust at the polling booths – you can be assured you will be properly represented.

Congratulations to all the officers and staff at South Holland District Council who worked so tirelessly, professionally and courteously throughout the election period.

A big thank you to my fellow councillors, past and present, across the council chamber – for all the support I received during my period of office and to Rita Rudkin who served as my vice chair and so ably filled in, when I was unable to attend engagements.

It has been a great honour and privilege to have served as the chairman of South Holland District Council for the last two years.

In that time, it was most enjoyable to have proudly represented this district at so many and indeed diverse engagements situated over the length and breadth of Lincolnshire.

Finally and at not least to Sue – the lady at my side, whose abilities as a county councillor were not lost on her role as consort!

A much used word, but it has all been most humbling!

Coun Robert Clark
Chairman
South Holland District Council 2013-2015
