There was no relief from their United Counties League toils for Pinchbeck United when they had a break for cup action.
However, a battling performance kept Premier Division side Northampton Sileby Rangers on their toes before they escaped from Eslaforde Park with a 2-0 Knockout Cup victory.
Both goals came in the first half, despite the Knights giving as good as they got, creating several good chances.
Sileby scored after 14 and 29 minutes to secure passage.

The Premier Division new boys romped to a 5-1 victory over Whaplode Drove Rovers last Wednesday, before returning from Moulton Harrox with all the points after a 2-0 success on Saturday.
Edward Barnes gave Drove the lead but Jordan Woods made it 1-1 just before half-time and Sutton ran clear after the break with goals from George Stainfield, Jordan Oliver, Jordan Keeble and Stachys Scott.
Keeble was on target again at Moulton after Jack Fowler had given them an early lead. It leaves Athletic fourth in the table, with only one defeat in the five games they have played since promotion.
Crowland Town are second after a 3-0 win at Stamford Reserves. Adam Blackbird, Harry Grigas and Klyden Lleshi were on target to earn Town a fourth victory in five games.
Whaplode Drove suffered a second heavy defeat inside four days when they crashed 7-0 at home to Ramsey Town.
They played much of the game with only ten men after Jamie Allen was sent off for a second yellow card in the 26th minute.
☐ Spalding United bounced back from their opening day East Midlands Women’s League, Division One South 8-0 defeat at home to Leicester City in style.
Codie Steward and Antonina Such scored two goals each and Nicola Krajewska also found the net in a 5-1 win at Stanground Cardea Sports.
