Two beautiful murals designed by local school children are set to be put up at a Spalding community centre.
Pupils from St Nortbert’s Catholic Voluntary Academy created the artworks set to be put up in prominent arches at Project St Thomas.
The school’s art leader Miss India Whyles oversaw the creation of the panels being funded thanks to the charity’s main sponsor, Seagate Homes.
The project’s Tracey Carter, said: “We were absolutely delighted when we saw the boards. Photographs really don’t do justice to the scale of them or the amount of work that has gone into creating them.
“What makes them particularly special to me is the number of children who have been involved.
“Hearing how much some of the children with additional learning challenges have enjoyed taking part was wonderful.
“There is a real sense that these belong to the pupils, and that is exactly what we wanted.
“Project St Thomas is about community and bringing people together, so having artwork created by local children permanently displayed in our hall feels incredibly fitting.
“Long after the boards are installed, those children will be able to come back and say, ‘I helped create that.’”
