Two dedicated charity workers have been nominated to be the first to win the Pride of South Holland Charity Worker category, sponsored by Hughes.
Muriel Good celebrates her 90th birthday this month, but is still a valued volunteer at South Holland Citizens Advice Bureau.
She was one the group’s founders and is still helping out 27 years later.
Angie Weetman, who nominated her for the charity worker and senior citizen awards, said: “Our Muriel has a lovely personality and a mind of her own. She is a very kind and thoughtful friend and colleague and is one of the mainstays of this bureau.
“She is always willing to go that extra mile, is positive and proactive and continually moves with the times.”
The second nominee is Barbara Satherley, who has been put forward by her colleagues at South Lincolnshire Blind Society.
Terry Horner and Susan Swinburn described Barbara as an “amazing volunteer who generously gives a great deal of her time supporting our cause in many different ways”.
This includes carrying our home visits, helping our at the book club and fundraising.
They added: “It is not only that Barbara gets involved with all these activities, but she does it with such good natured commitment, compassion and kindness.”
