Fantastic four for festival

Four fantastic and varied nights of music are to reverb through the Kings Lynn Corn Exchange next week as part of the town’s annual festival.

Brass, flamenco, classical and jazz are all featured in a fantastic programme with roots from around the world.

First up on Sunday July the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band will be performing at the venue.

Conducted by David Thornton, pieces by Elgar, Coates and Berlioz will be performed.

Among the very best bands in the world, their programme showcases arrangements of some of the most popular and well loved classical music.

It’s followed on Wednesday, July 15 when Nuria Garcia steps up for her show Fiesta Flamenco.

Prepare to be swept away as flamenco star Nuria Garcia and her colourful troupe of dancers and musicians bring the fiery and flamboyant music of the Moors in Andalucia to Kings Lynn.

Garcia leads her dancers through a breathtaking dialogue of rhythmic precision and emotional intensity, where every sharp heel-click and fluid gesture tells a story of passion, sorrow and triumph.”

On Thursday July 16, celebrated pianist Kanneh-Masons is joined by violinist Braimah Kanneh-Mason for a special evening of classical music.

Pieces from Mozart, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky will be performed in a masterclass of music syergy by the world-renowned siblings.

Known for a intuiitive rapport that only a lifestime of shared music-making can foster, the duo brings a breathtaking depth to the chamber music repertoire.

There’s a real treat for jazz lovers on Friday, July 17 with the show A Love Surpeme: Music From a Jazz Deity.

Bassist, band leader and co-founder of Tommorw’s Warriors Gary Crosby teams up with Mercury Prize nominee and MOBO award winning saxophonist to lead an all star quartet in a recreation of one of the greatest jazz albums of all time, John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme.
