Parade festival postponed but acts to put on separate gigs

A full day festival organised to raise money for the Spalding Flower Parade has been postponed.

The organisers have blamed a clash with the Ayscoughfest, a free event being held in the town centre on the same day.

As a result, the tribute acts which had been booked to play at the town’s rugby club are being ‘redistributed’.

“We have had to postpone because there is another event which is taking place in town,” said a spokesman. “We know we can’t compete with that. It’s an unfortunate coincidence.

“The people who organise that event didn’t know we were trying to do one on the same way. The same as we didn’t know.

“It’s nothing more than an unfortunate coincidence so we’ve taken the step to postpone our event and we’re redistributing the acts.”

The first will be the Blues Brothers Night at Pinchbeck Village Hall on Saturday, August 15 and the doors open at 6.30pm. Tickets are £12 from the website www.zefft.com/en-GB/ticketing/blues-night
