New boys Tigers Club see off Dragons

The first week of the Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer League is under way.

In Division A new side Tigers Club travelled to Green Dragon A and came away 19-8 winners.

Highlights included a 15-dart leg in the pairs for Tigers’ Si Hill and Tim Brookin. Hill also struck a 180 in his 2-1 singles victory over Kieran Grove, who himself had a 112 checkout for an 18-dart leg.

Player of the night was Jayden Lee, who produced a 160 checkout in the pairs and followed it with a 180 and an 18-dart leg in his 2-1 singles win over Simon Horton. Ash Allen added another 180 for the Tigers, while Chris Newman hit a 100 finish for the Dragon.

In Division B, Lincoln Arms D opened their campaign with a 16-11 win at Pinchbeck FC A. Lincoln’s Luke Rhodes hit two 180s in his singles win over Emma Tickner. Josh Burton responded for Football Club with a 150 checkout and an 18-dart leg in his singles win over Eva Spinks.

Drayman’s Arms B recorded a 15-12 home victory against Green Dragon Z. Drayman’s Q were beaten 15-12 at Consti Club B, with the highlight for Drayman’s being a 180 from Jason Chilvers in his 2-1 singles win over Matt Broderick.

There was only one match played in Division C, a close contest between Pinchbeck FC C and Lincoln Arms C.

The football club led 10-8 before Steve Doades pulled Lincoln back into contention with a 3-0 win over Gary Coomes. Kenzie Foster restored the Pinchbeck lead with a 3-0 win against Nigel Goodwin but a final game 3-0 victory for Jay Fountain over JJ Ward secured a 14-13 win for the Lincoln.
