A 15-year-old missing from Whaplode for almost a week has returned home.
Lincolnshire Police first appealed for information relating to the teen Erasmus (his second name has not been published) last Monday (April 6).
But today (Monday, April 13) the force posted: “We’re really glad to be able to report missing Erasmus has been found.
“Thanks to everyone who shared our appeal to help find him.
“We’d ask that where anyone has shared or published his image, they now delete it.”
Erasmus plays for Holbeach United Football Education Academy which posted on its social media channels: “We are incredibly relieved to share that Erasmus safely returned home at around midnight last night. What a moment for his family, friends, teammates and everyone connected to our club.
“The last few days have shown the very best of our community. The response to the missing person posts has been nothing short of incredible:
• Over 176,000 views across platforms
• More than 2,400 shares helping spread the message far and wide
• Hundreds of comments, messages and interactions showing genuine care and concern
“Thank you so much to all those who shared information with the police and everyone else involved in helping to bring him home!
“This level of support played a huge part in raising awareness, and it shows just how powerful our community can be when we come together. Thank you to every single person who shared, commented, messaged or kept Erasmus in their thoughts.
“At this time, we kindly ask that everyone respects the privacy of Erasmus and his family. They have been through a lot, and now need time and space to be together and begin to recover from this experience.
“Thank you again for your support, compassion and unity.”
