SADOS return to musicals with Joseph

Lincolnshire’s oldest amateur dramatics society is set to bring Joseph to the Spalding Stage

Spalding Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (SADOS) returns to the South Holland Centre spotlight this autumn with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s spectacular and much loved family musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

The show marks the group’s first musical since 2022.

The production will run nightly from November 12-15 with a matinee performance next Saturday (15.)

Tickets are now on sale online or in person from the South Holland Centre Box Office priced at £19 (£16 concessions.)

The timeless tale follows Joseph, played by Geran Jackson, as the son of a humble shepherd, whose journey from servitude to a position of great power in Egypt is told by Narrator, portrayed by Alison Johnson-Smith, through a whirlwind of colour, energy and unforgettable songs.

Audiences can look forward to favourites such as Close Every Door, Those Canaan Days and, of course, the iconic Any Dream Will Do.

Group chairman Alan Jackson said: “Our wonderful young cast has been working tirelessly since August to bring this vibrant and colourful show to life.

“We’ve had tremendous fun creating it and can’t wait for audiences to tap their feet and sing along.”

The group, based at St Margaret’s Hall, Quadring, are always looking to recruit keen new members of all ages, abilities and levels of experience to take part in the many activities they have planned.
