Lincoln Arms A round off season with a knockout league and cup double

The Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer Darts League reached its conclusion with a lively and well-attended finals night at Spalding Services Club.

The Ward Trophy final between Kirton Leisure and Drayman’s Arms saw Kirton take an early 2-1 lead after the pairs but singles wins from Kev, Connor and Phil Newton swung the momentum in favour of Drayman’s, putting them 4-2 ahead. Josh Smith and Ashley Brown hit back to make it 4-4 and in a tense final game, Jamie Clark held his nerve to defeat Kieran Twitchen 2-1 to secure a dramatic 5-4 victory for Kirton.

The pairs semi-finals saw Jason Vines and Ash Allen overcome Daz Gedney and Jack Chilvers, while Mark Ledger and Josh Smith saw off Tom Elderkin and Sam Clift to reach the Division B & C final.

In Division A, Steve Rawding and Dave Norbury advanced past Dan Gent and Eva Spinks, while Jordan Philpott and Paul Faulkner defeated Dean Murray and Steve Gaughan.

In Division B & C Singles semi-finals, Jason Vines and Mark Ledger progressed at the expense of Mark Jones and Connor MacKenzie.

In Division A, Dave Norbury and Steve Gaughan booked their places in the final by beating Stacey Banister and Dean Murray respectively.

The Knockout Cup final featured league champions Lincoln Arms A against Services Club B and a one-sided affair saw Lincoln complete a league and cup double with a commanding 6-1 win. The only bright spot for Services was Dave Norbury’s 2-0 victory over Harry Walsh.

The Ladies Cup final saw Stacey Banister edge out Lacie Brookin 2-1.

Dan Gent claimed the Captains Cup with a 2-0 win over Rob Green.

In the Mixed Pairs final, Ash Allen and Lacie Brookin triumphed 2-1 against Tony and Eva Spinks.

The Division B & C Pairs final saw Allen and Vines prove too strong for Smith and Ledger, winning 2-0 with impressive 14 and 19 dart legs.

In Division A, Philpott and Faulkner narrowly defeated Rawding and Norbury 2–1.

Jason Vines continued his fine form in the Division B & C singles final, beating Mark Ledger 2-0.

In Division A, Dave Norbury edged past Steve Gaughan 3–2 in a cagey and competitive contest.

The Mark Tansley Trophy pitted Division B & C champion Jason Vines against Division A winner Dave Norbury and the higher division player capped off a superb evening with a 3-0 victory.

The league extended its thanks to the Services Club for their hospitality, MC Ian Tilley for his invaluable support, John Robinson for scoring all the finals and Di Langston for photographs.
