Week three of the Spalding Darts League saw a night of close encounters, although there were only two games in Division One.
First up, Consti E beat Draymans A. Consti went 2-1 up in the pairs and then Calum Ward went on to make it 3-1.
Draymans fought back with wins for Josh Higgins and Barry Smith, but Consti sealed the points thanks to Josh Ford and Dan Gent.
Best legs of the night were in the pairs games where Higgins and Josh Grainger and Ford and Gent both hit 18-dart legs.
Also in Division One, Rose and Crown A beat Mail Cart 5-4.
Rose and Crown went 3-1 up thanks to winning two pairs games followed by a win for Tyger Atkin against Paul Faulkner who had a 180.
Stu Page got Mail Cart back on track with a win and a maximum 180 in his victory and Jacob Herd won with a fine 17-dart leg.
Adam Godfrey won to make it 4-3 to Rose and Crown and then Harry Faulkner made it level, beating Ian Lawson.
The last game was between the captains in which Hank Watson beat Josh Faulkner 2-1 to seal the victory for Mail Cart.
On to Division Two, and Riverside Hotel beat Rose and Crown B 5-4.
Rose and Crown went 4-2 up and were favourites but wins for Tracey Baldwin, Kieran Twitchen and Jonny Pell, who had a 128 check-out, sealed the points for Riverside.
Rose and Crown’s Dave Henderson had a 180 in his victory over Ben Taylor.
Another close encounter was a 5-4 win for Drayman’s B against Consti D.
Drayman’s went 5-1 up to seal an early victory by winning 2-1 in the pairs and the first three singles thanks to Connor Hughes, Matt Broderick and Chris Howling. Consti won the final three games as a consolation.
The final game of Division Two was another 5-4 win, with Green Dragon A beating Ship Long Sutton.
Dragon went 2-1 up and won thanks to single wins by Callum Templeman, Darren Templeman and Mick Holstead. Holstead had an 18-dart leg on the night and hit six scores of 100 or more in his win.
Although the Ship lost they played well, with Jake Hinta Penta having a mighty 155 check-out in an 18-dart leg and Tom Burton a 114 check-out.
In Division 3, Pinchbeck FC kept up their great start to the season with a 6-3 win against Lincoln Arms.
Young Connor McKenzie was player of the night with a 180 and a 15-dart leg.
Other singles winners for Pinchbeck were Harvey Elderkin, Tom Elderkin and Sam Clift.
Moulton Harrox had a fine 7-2 win against Holbeach Services B where Chris O’Leary was the only singles winner for Services.
Green Dragon B had a good 6-3 win against Mulberrys Bar who were unbeaten going into the fixture.
Dragon started well, winning the first two pairs games and finished the night well winning the last three singles games thanks to wins for Simon Horton, Adam Ledger and Dan Martin.
Draymans D kept up their winning ways with an 8-1 win against Pied Calf.
* With just two weeks remaining until the Dewhursts Trophies finals night in the Pinchbeck & District Darts Summer League, this week’s fixtures saw the conclusion of the pairs competition qualifiers.
Division A: From The Services Club, Dave Norbury and Steve Rawding (Services Club B) and Jordan Philpott and Paul Faulkner (Consti Club C) secured their places.
Joining them from The Lincoln Arms are Steve Gaughan and Dean Murray (Lincoln Arms A) and Dan Gent and Eva Spinks (Lincoln Arms D).
Division B & C: Four pairs will represent the divisions on finals night:
Darren Gedney and Jack Chilvers and Ash Allen and Jason Vines, both from the Pied Calf, Mark Ledger and Josh Smith (Kirton Leisure), and Tom Elderkin and Sam Clift (Pinchbeck FC B).
Finals night is on October 17.
