Pearl knocks in personal best league break but doesn’t win

Pyramid F are holding on to the top spot in Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League with an unbeaten run of four games.

They beat Holbeach D 4-2 on Thursday night to go three points clear at the top.

Holbeach started well with wins from Denis Hix (r7) and Callum Scott (r7) but it was downhill from there as Carl Gibson (o21), Mark Gray (o98) and Ian Gibson (r7) took the next three frames.

Gray knocked in breaks of 38, 36 and 34 in his win over Wayne Fobelets (o21).
Services A jumped four places to second after a 4-2 win over friendly foe Services D.

Father and son Phil (o14) and Martin Spencer (o28) got the points for the A team, along with Jake Haslam (o14), who won the deciding frame over Russ Morse (o14).

Donington C moved up six places to third, thanks to a 5-1 victory over Consti E.
Mick Pearl (o21) was the only loser for Donington, but his loss to Sean Jeynes (o14) was sweetened by the fact that he knocked in a 53 break, his personal best in the league.

Neil Reynolds (o63), Shaun Pickering (r7), Mat Turner (o28) and Neil Favell (o21) were the winners for Donington.
Pyramid C dropped two places after losing 4-2 to Boundary A.

Spencer Dawkins (o56) got a 39 break but it wasn’t enough to beat Tim Burrows (scr), who got the points along with Elliott Cox (scr), and Andy Mowforth (o7).

Consti H moved up five places thanks to their whitewash of Gosberton A.

Adam Mayman (o28), Doug Garfoot (o28), Seb Grimston (o28), Mark German (o28) and Jon Houldershaw (r14) were the winners. Mayman had a 38 break.

Services C got themselves off the bottom of the table, beating Holbeach C 4-2.
Geoff Hemsil (r21) got Services off to a good start with a 72-31 win over Dan Ashton (o7), before Nick Edwards (r14) levelled the score.

Terry West (r7) put Holbeach ahead but Mark Spiller equalised again, getting the better of Paul Ashton (r14).

It was down to Nigel Cherry (o7) and Mark Gregory (o28) to fight it out in the decider, with Cherry taking the honours.

It’s as you were in Division Two, with the top three teams holding their positions.
Holbeach A are sitting at the top, with four wins in four.

They beat Pyramid A 4-2 on Thursday, thanks to wins from Pete Ransom (o35), Mark Woodberry (o56), who got a 40 break, and Stuart Atkin (o42).

Sean Swinburn’s (o63) 66 break wasn’t enough for him to get the win over Jim Benner (r14).
Consti F are in second place after a 4-2 win over Holbeach F.

Martyn Stanley (r14), Robert Adams (o7) and Bryan Turnell (r14) were the winners for Consti.
A 4-2 win over Pyramid B has kept Holbeach E in third.

Their winners were Richard Parkes (o7), Robert Coaten (r14) and James Crampton (o14).
Down at the bottom of the table, Whittlesey A are yet to get off the mark. They lost 4-2 to Services B.

Wins from Andy Neal (r7), Jason Rose (o28) and Paul Doades (scr) sealed the victory for Services.
Donington A got a 4-2 win at home at Gosberton D.

Gosberton started well with wins from James Parrott (r7) and Lynn Simmons (r21) before Donington took the remaining three frames and the win, thanks to Tony Scully (o42), Nigel Brasier (o28) and Kevin Hawes (o14).
Pyramid E beat Whittlesey C 4-2 moving them up two places into seventh.

In Division Three, Boundary B have jumped above Consti D to take first place.
They beat Consti I 4-2.

Paul Spittlehouse (o56) knocked in breaks of 57 and 27 on his way to a win over John Bellerby (r7), and along with Dougy Lythgoe (o14) and Ash Heywood (o14), gave Boundary the win.

Consti B boosted themselves up the table with a 5-1 win over club mates Consti D.
The win puts the B team into seventh place and moves the D team into second.

Winners were John Christian (r7), Mick Johnson (o14), John Pike (r14) and John Keeton (o7).
Martin Perkins (o28) got the solitary point for the D team.

Gosberton C moved up two places to third, after a 5-1 away win over Consti C, who remain bottom of the table.
Winners on the night were Malcolm Holmes (r7), James Elliot (o14), Chris Sibley (r14) and Stuart Henderson (scr). Steve Crane (scr) was the only winner for Consti.

Donington B dropped two places to second-from-bottom, after losing 5-1 to Whittlesey B.

Michael Foster (o14), Pawel Skutela (r14), Andy Skutela (r14) and John Skutela (o7) got the points for Whittlesey.

Gosberton B beat Consti A 4-2, thanks to wins from Warren Driver (r21), Mark Howlett (o7) and Simon Slinger (r7).

Consti J got the better of Holbeach G, beating them 4-2 away Winners were Trev Braybrook (r21), Les Andrew (r7) and Stew Davies (o14).
