A van providing energy advice in rural communities is to expand its operations into South Holland.
East Lindsey District Council’s Home Energy and Advice Retrofit Team (HEART).
The pilot, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, saw the launch of an electric Energy Van, supported by a team of officers, travelling to rural areas, to provide home energy advice to residents.
After a successful pilot, the project has been granted £362,720.15 from the Peterborough Energy City Trust to continue its work and to expand its reach to South Holland and Boston.
District councillor Jim Astill, portfolio holder for corporate, governance, communications and environmental services, said: “The funding secured for a Partnership-wide Home Energy Advice Service is a very positive change for South and East Lincolnshire.
“Our officers will be able to more closely support residents in need of new energy efficiency measures, advice and guidance. The experience our officers have gained through the East Lindsey District Council pilot scheme will be very valuable for maintaining a high quality of service too.
“I encourage residents who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their property, and the other benefits our Home Energy Advice Service has to offer, to call 01775 764446.”
