Band members who have consistently on the look out for new members have been recognised at an awards ceremony.
Ahead of its Learn To Play week, Holbeach Town Band held its annual Awards Evening.
Taking home the Musical Director’s award for services to the band was Julie Simons.
Mel Hopkin presented her with the accolade and described her as the ‘driving force supporting the back row clarinets’.
The Cecil Cook Trophy is voted for by band members themselves.
This year they voted for Zoe Holdsworth who principally plays the harmonium but has played solo horn to fill a vacancy.
The Jack Hopkin Shield awarded for achievement in the Holbeach Victoria Training Band was given to 13-year-old Martin Bathgate who has made such good progress he’s moved up to the senior band.
Holbeach Town Band’s Learn To Week sees its Back Lane base open from 2pm to 4pm from Monday July 28 to Friday August 1.
Anyone can pop in for free and try an instrument.
