Tigers march on towards title after 8-1 mauling of Lincoln

Tigers C maintained their 100 per cent record in the Spalding League with an 8-1 win over Lincoln Arms A.

A high-quality match saw five 180s with Ant Richardson, Duncan Hunt and Monty Bunn all hitting one and Harry Walsh scoring two. Richardson also had a 116 check-out and an 18-dart leg. Richardson and Hunt teamed up and had a 17-dart leg in their pairs game, with Hunt also having an 18-dart leg of his own in his singles win. Simon

Hill and Mark Horspool had an 18-dart leg in the pairs but the best leg of the night was a 15 from Bunn. The sole winner for the Lincoln was Harry Walsh, who beat Colin Hatter.

Another game of high quality was Consti A’s 7-2 win against Drayman’s A, where there were 180s from Josh Higgins, Chris Fidler and Andy Bingham. Sam Roberts had a 102 check-out but this was bettered by Jack Chilvers’ 148. Roberts and Fidler had an 18-dart leg in their pairs game but the most consistent pair of the night were Jason Vines and Chilvers who had a 17 and 18- dart leg. Josh Grainger and Josh Higgins won singles for Drayman’s.

In a closer game, Rose and Crown beat Consti E 5-4. Rose and Crown started well, going 2-1 up in the pairs but Mick Atkin won to level the match. Wins from Tyger Atkin, Gary Mace and Hank Watson, who had a 180, were enough to seal the points.

Tigers B kept up their chances of winning Division Two with a 6-3 win against Drayman’s B. Tigers were 2-1 down after the pairs but five straight wins in the singles from Charlie Henderson, Leo Clarkson, Dave Henderson, Richard Brooks and Danny Goddard sealed the points. Sole winner for Drayman’s was Wigs Harrison.

The division’s other game saw a 6-3 win for Consti D against Holbeach Services. Consti went 2-1 in the pairs and four wins in a row from Jonny Robinson, John Robinson, Colin Beckett and Ady Smith took the points. Sole singles wins for Holbeach came from Stu Stephens and Chris Chamberlain.

Division Three champions Ship Long Sutton kept up their impressive record with a last-game win against Green Dragon B. Ship went 2-1 up in the pairs but Mick Holstead levelled the score. Two more wins from each team set up a final-game decider between Zach Chapman and Kieron Grove, with Chapman coming out on top thanks to a 16-dart leg, Callum Templeman had a maximum 180 for the Dragon.

Drayman’s C beat Lincoln B 6-3 with singles wins for Dean Murray, Connor and John Mackenzie and Billy Elliot. Although Scott O’Connell lost, he had a 140 check-out.

Riverside Hotel won 7-2 against Moulton Harrox. The only singles winner for Harrox was Hayley McHugh.

* Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer League leaders Lincoln Arms A carried on their march towards the title with a 21-6 home win against their D team counterparts. Tony Spinks was the sole winner for the D side, beating Dean Murray 2-1. Murray had a 107 check-out. In the pairs there were 18-dart legs for Sam Roberts and Murray, along with John Charlton and Steve Stancer for the A team.

The fight for second place took a massive swing in favour of Consti Club C with a 20-7 win at rivals Services Club B. In a game dominated by Consti, Paul Faulkner had a 180, Jack Morton took out a 100 finish and Jacob Herd registered a 16-dart leg. The only highlights for Services were a 180 for Steve Rawding and a 114 finish for Tony Clark.

Green Dragon A secured a 19-8 home win against Consti Club Z. Rob Green and Paul Merrill were the only winners for Consti in their singles games. Scott Williams hit a 180 and had a 145 check-out, before sharing an 18-dart check-out with Chris Newman in the pairs. Jon Goor also had a 180 for Dragon.

In Division B, Consti Club B remain unbeaten at the top after a 19-8 win at Kirton Leisure. Craig Spiller and Mark Ledger were the only successes for Leisure, with singles wins over Matt Broderick and Adam Robinson respectively. Stu Ewins took out a 115 finish for the Consti.

Pied Calf and Drayman’s Arms are tied for second place. Pied Calf came out 15-12 winners against bottom side Lincoln Arms C, while Drayman’s beat Green Dragon Z 19-8 at home.

Division C bottom side Green Dragon C, got their first win of the season, overcoming Consti Club A with a 15-12 away victory. Trent Hutson secured the win, beating Kev Bailey 3-0 in the penultimate singles game. Chris Mumby had a 180 for the Consti.

Services Club A went one point clear at the top of the table with a 15-12 win at Consti Club D. Carl Worth, Connor McKenzie and Steve Booden all won 3-0 in their singles for Services.

In the Pinchbeck FC derby, the B team came out 14-13 winners against the C team. Although losing 2-1, Slim Elderkin got the all important leg in the last game against Jay Vernalls. Harvey Elderkin hit his third maximum of the season for the B team to go top of the 180s leader board.
