Jimmy Dean has moved quickly to secure his first new signing for the 2025/26 season.
Former Kettering Town captain Connor Johnson has committed to Spalding United and will rejoin his former Peterborough Sports manager at the Sir Halley Stewart Field.
Defender Johnson began his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, with loans at Boreham Wood, AFC Telford United, Walsall and Kilmarnock. He was on the losing side in the recent Southern League Premier Central play-off final after joining the Poppies from National League North side Sports.
There will be a new team playing under the Tulips umbrella at the Sir Halley Stewart Field next season.
A women’s team will be launched for the 2025/26 season, the first time Spalding United have been represented at women’s level for several years.
Manager Sammy Linford said: “As soon as I was made aware that Spalding United were interested in adding a women’s and girls’ sector to their already well established club, I knew straight away I had to be involved.”
