A Spalding man who denies historic sexual offences involving two children has gone on trial at Lincoln Crown Court.
Marvin Scampion, 47, of Edward Road, Spalding, faces nine sexual offences and one charge of child cruelty.
The charges include five sexual offences against a boy under the age of 13 between April 2008 and December 2011.
They include a charge of attempted rape, two charges of sexual assault and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
He is also charged with causing or inciting a boy under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Scampion also faces two charges of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 by touching and two charges of engaging in sexual activity while a child is present.
Those four charges are alleged to have occurred between January 2015 and July 2016.
Scampion also denies a tenth charge of cruelty to a child aged under 16.
The trial judge, Judge James House KC, told jurors it was entirely understandable that allegations of a sexual nature involving children prompted strong emotions.
But Judge House asked the jury to take a calm approach and warned them “it is important you put emotions aside”
The trial is expected to last up to eight days.
