Three school choirs stepped up for the Let’s Sing competition put on by Spalding Rotary Club.
The final on Thursday, February 13, at Springfield Events Centre saw Ayscoughfee Hall, St Paul’s and St Norbert’s schools, all from Spalding look to win the £200 top prize.
Each sang two songs for the panel of judges and the 250-strong audience.
The choirs were judged on their tone, rhythm and stage presence.
St Norbert’s were crowned the winners with each of their choir receiving a medal as well as the first prize.
Both runners up Ayscoughfee and St Paul’s received £50 each.
There was also a £50 donation made to the Rock School Bus Youth Band who performed while the judges made their decisions.
Graham Dawson, youth project leader from Spalding Rotary Club and the MC for the event said: “This is the first time that this event has been held and it has proved to be a great success for many reasons.
“The aim of the event was to bring together children from all diversities, grow their confidence and encourage them to work together as a team and their enthusiasm for singing certainly shone through.
“We already have more choirs applying for next years event.
“We’d like to thank all the sponsors including Landmarc Services Ltd and Bakkavor Pizza, who sponsored the schools prize money along with Every Cloud Accountancy, Doodles Pottery, and the Red Lion Hotel who donated a meal for two for the raffle.
