Bomb squad called to same Holbeach St Marks property for second time this week

A bomb disposal unit were called to a Holbeach St Marks property for a second time this week last night, as another suspected shell was found.

The EOD Squadron and Lincolnshire Police were called back to a property on Lapwater Lane around 4pm yesterday (Thursday, October 17) after a report of another suspected explosive being found.

On Tuesday they were at the same property after a shell was found and removed safely.

For both incidents a cordon was put up around the property.

Of the latest incident, a police spokesman said: “A cordon was placed around the property and the MOD attended and confirmed that the artillery bullet was an empty casing, similar to the one found on October 15.

“It was deemed safe to lift the cordon and for residents to continue as normal.”
