Awards for NHS teams

Two nursing teams covering the area have won regional awards to be in line for a national title.

The Lincolnshire Health and Care Apprentice Centre from Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust and the Education Faculty at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn are up for the NHS Parliamentary Awards 2024.
Both are in the running for the Excellence in Education and Training Award recognising a team or individual leading the way in delivering a long-term workforce plan.
The awards take place on Monday, October 14.
A spokesman for the LCHS said its nomination was because the team provided innovative ways to combat challenges in hard-to-recruit roles leading to an increase in filled vacancies and have also supported 70 per cent of primary care employers across Lincolnshire in accessing apprenticeships.
Lee Gifford, apprentice lead, said: “I am so proud of our Health and Care Apprentice Centre team and grateful for the work they all do daily.
“Reaching the national shortlist for this nomination is testament to their hard work and dedication.
“Our staff always strive to make a difference, whether this is for colleagues aspiring to become healthcare registered professionals, climb the career ladder or simply wanting to join health and care services for the first time, the centre and our staff are here to help.”
The Education Faculty staff at the QEH were acknowledged for the Caring with Kindness, Bereavement and Frailty is Everyone’s business programmes designed to foster individualised care.
Helen Muncey, head of the Education Faculty, said: “I’m incredibly proud of our team for their dedication to delivering these impactful programmes.
“They not only elevate the quality of care for our patients but also actively engage them in shaping their care experience.”
