Investigation into trade of endangered species leads to raid of Spalding antiques shop

Lincolnshire Police say officers have raided a Spalding antiques shop as part of an investigation into the trade of endangered species.

Following a police presence in the town centre this morning (August 14), officers confirmed that it was related to a search of Pendragon Antiques on Red Lion Street.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Officers from the Rural Crime Action Team (RCAT) along with the Tactical Support Team (TST) have conducted a warrant this morning at Pendragon Antiques in Red Lion Street, Spalding.

“The warrant is part of an investigation into the trade of endangered species. Specially trained search officers remain on scene, and are likely to be at the location throughout this morning.

“Their investigations will continue after the searches are completed.”

The spokesman confirmed that, so far, no arrests have been made.
