Three through to finals night

Monday night saw the semi finals of all three cup competitions in the Spalding and District Darts League.

In the Supreme Cup Consti A edged out their E team 5-4 in a close encounter.
The E team went 2-1 up in pairs which put them in the driving seat going into singles, but wins for Jack Chilvers and Jason Vines gave the A team a 3-2 lead. The E team struck back with wins by Calum Ward who had a 17-dart leg and Dan Gent.
This gave the E team a 4-3 lead needing only one win from the last two games to make the final. However, Nick Moyses won and then Graham Burgess won the final game 2-1 against Paul Merrill to get the victory for the A team.
In the final Consti A will play Draymans A, who beat Rose and Crown 6-3.
Hank Watson, Rose and Crown captain, was on form with a 15-dart leg and a big 164 check out. However, this was just a consolation prize as wins from Kev Newton, Logan Goddard, Phil Newton and Josh Grainger were enough to secure the victory.
In the Dick Morgan Cup, Punchbowl A stormed into a 6-3 win against Tigers B. After going 2-1 up in the doubles, they then had singles wins for Paul Sellars, Simon Fidler, Chris Fidler and Vidas which was enough to secure victory.
Danny Goddard and Mark Robinson were the two singles winners for Tigers B.
They will play table topping Ye Olde Abbey in the final who won a tight match 5-4 against the Mail Cart.
Mail Cart got the first blow with two of the three doubles and then followed it on with two of the next three singles with wins for Paul Faulkner and Jacob Herd.
Sitting 4-1 up in a race to five the Mail Cart must have felt confident but wins for Craig Norbury, JJ Bird and Stan Browing showed why they are top of the league and put them into the final.
In the Kelly Foster Cup, there was another 5-4 encounter with the Ship Long Sutton coming out on top against Draymans B.
As with some of the other cup games, the losing side took an early win with Draymans winning two doubles and Sandy Sandison winning the first singles game, which put the Draymans B 3-1 up.
But then wins for Jake Hinta-Penta, Travis Stapleton, Tom Burton, and Tom Semper put the Long Sutton side in the final.
Wigs Harrison got a consolation win on the last leg for the Draymans B.
The Ship will play Punchbowl B in the final who beat Holbeach Services 6-3.
Winning two of the three doubles put Punchbowl in the driving seat before wins for Jamie McHugh and Stu Adams left the limelight to Ryan Munton who securred his team the victory.
Josh Moyses and Stu Stephens got the two singles wins for Holbeach Services.
