Moulton Harrox came close to a winning weekend treble but had to settle for just one victory.
The first XI delivered an emphatic 137-run success against Freiston to stay nine points clear at the top of the South Lincs and Border League Championship.
Batting first, the new pair of slashers Jamie Juckes and Blake Wolstenholme started strongly. Wolstenholme flew to his half century in his usual flamboyant style before his innings ended on 56. Josh Newton showed signs of a return to form but an attempted cleaver over mid-wicket saw his stumps knocked out for 19. Juckes reached his half-century, eventually out for 61 with valuable contributions from Ruari Drumm (19) and Lee Egg (28) seeing the total reach 234/9 from the 45 overs.
Returning to the side and taking the new ball, Harry Lovell took three wickets, stopping any chance of a Freiston victory. Robbie Townsend took an economical 2-14 but it was off spinner Flynn McMillan who stole the show, taking 5-20.
In Division Two, Moulton Seconds bowled first and Anish Suwarneraj and Simon Juckes took two quick wickets.
A strong recovery from Andrew Phillips saw Orton build a strong partnership. Captain John Pipe reached his half century and Phillips went on to make an unbeaten 127. Two wickets for Suwarneraj saw him as the pick of the bowlers, while Curtis Todd, Juckes, Junaid Alam and Cam Fox all took a wicket each as Orton ended on 235/6.
Moulton lost five quick wickets, needing something special to recover the game. Alam batted steadily in support of Juckes, who played the innings of a life time. He obliterated the Orton attack, racing past his half century. Alam was dismissed for 29, but an excellent ten from Zak Maddison continued to push Moulton close. Juckes reached his hundred, before being run out for 118. Captain Rob Callaby made a solid 22 not out but Moulton fell eight runs short.
Moulton batted first in Division Four East of the Rutland Sunday League and raced to 50/0 before Suwarneraj was dismissed for 21.
McMillan made his maiden half century with a well-constructed 61 and a late run-a-ball 25 from Luke Sorrell put the score to 160 all out.
Harry Lovell (3-29) took three quick wickets, supported well by McMillan (2-17) and Alam (1031) to put the pressure on Peterborough Town. However, an excellent individual innings from Jal Venugopal (96) put the game out of reach as Moulton lost by four wickets.
