Shoppers can once again vote for their favourite market trader amid plans to attract new stalls.
South Holland District Council is taking part in The National Association of British Market Authorities ‘Love Your Local Market’ campaign from Friday, May 17 to Sunday, June 1.
The campaign is a celebration of the important role the markets play within local communities, and to raise the profile of existing markets.
The council is offering any new market traders who stand for four consecutive markets, the next four free.
Shoppers can vote for their favourite trader, which was won in South Holland last year by Julie Newman (pictured centre).
To vote visit the website: https://bit.ly/4a6Hfln. Applications will be accepted no later than 11.59pm on Saturday, June 1.
Elsewhere, Spalding Market will again host a round of the Young Traders 2024 competition and a Teenage Market.
The competition is for 16 to 30-year-olds with the heat in Spalding taking place from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, May 25.
Winners will go through to a regional final in Bury St Edmunds before the national final in Stratford-upon-Avon where a £500 first prize is up for grabs.
You can apply for the 2024 Young Traders Market Campaign by May 20 at www.nmtf.co.uk/campaigns/young-traders-market-application
The Teenage Market, where youngsters can have a stall on the market, is back in Spalding alongside the usual market on Saturday, May 18.
