Moulton Harrox crowned champs

Moulton Harrox are the GCE Hire Peterborough and District Premier League champions.

In an incredibly exciting title race that involved six teams, they edged past Crowland Town on Tuesday night 1-0 while Stanground Sports suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Whittlesey Athletic Reserves.
That means they claim the Premier Division title with a game to spare.
A second half goal from Nathan Smith and a fine defensive display against a Crowland team, who themselves were in the title race, sealed the league.
On Saturday, Moulton came from behind to draw 2-2 at Whittlesey, Jacob Drew and Marcus Parry with the goals.
Harrox finish the season at Oundle Town on Saturday.
On the same day, Crowland kept up their hopes of the title with a Danny Firth goal earning a 1-0 win at Sawtry.
The bottom of the division has been even tighter where four teams are separated by a point.
Holbeach United Reserves is not one of those teams – their 2-0 win at home to Oakham United on Saturday put daylight between themselves and the bottom teams.
First half goals from Charlie Ford and Kieron McConnell ensured they won’t finish in the bottom two.
Tydd remain third from bottom after losing 8-1 at home to Stanground Sports.
But Netherton United lost 3-2 at home to Warboys which means they will finish the season bottom of the league.
They travel to Stamford Belvedere for their final match of the season on Saturday.
Long Sutton Athletic ended their Division One season with a 3-2 defeat at home to Park Farm Pumas, Jamal Nyang and James Ward with the Sutton goals.
In Division Two, Tydd Reserves earned a 2-2 draw at home to Stamford Lions while Crowland Town Reserves lost 5-2 at home to Whittlesey Athletic Development, Klyden Lleshi twice responding in the second half.
Whaplode Drove Rovers Reserves drew 2-2 with Bourne Town A to finish third from bottom in Division Three. Sam Moakes and Ethan Jones earned a point for the home side.
Moulton Harrox Reserves were hoping to emulate their first team and wrap up the Division Four title on Wednesday night before The Voice went to press.
A Jack Forster hat trick and strike from Ashley Wilson gave them a 4-2 win at Stamford Lions Reserves on Saturday to move within one win of the title.
South Lincolnshire Swifts had run them close the previous Wednesday losing 2-1 before suffering a 5-0 defeat at home to Wittering on Saturday.
In the Sunday Division One, there were back-to-back defeats for Crowland Town losing 5-1 at Glinton and Northborough and 3-2 at home to Thorpe Wood Rangers Sunday Blue.
South Holland United beat PSV Athletic 5-1. Doubles from Emilio Mead and Warren Hebblethwaite made it 5-0 before the break for the Holbeach Bank-based outfit.
