LETTERS – Munro needs more staff

I ordered a prescription over a week ago at the Munro Medical Centre who then sent it over to the West Elloe chemist.
I had not had a text to say that it was ready for collection so I rang the chemist.
They said the waiting time for prescriptions was now ten days to two weeks for collection.
As I order online I can only order one week before my renewal date and cannot order any earlier, so this means I would be without medication for many days.
I consulted the surgery to ask if there was any other way of doing it they said the only thing I could do was to put the actual repeat prescription paper in the box in the surgery two weeks before required.
This defeats the object as I have to make a special journey to the surgery.
This is just to let everyone know of this situation and be aware.
I did complain to the chemist and she told me since Lloyds Chemist has closed they have taken on more than 8,000 new prescriptions.
I rang Superdrug and asked them how long waiting time was for collections for prescriptions they said three to five days. Why is West Elloe so long?
More staff is needed at West Elloe to accommodate the increase.
