Spalding Indoor Bowls Club are proud to be hosting the final stages of two national junior singles competitions next month.
The Castle Sports Complex will hold the national under-15 singles finals on Saturday, March 7, before hosting the under-18 national singles finals the following day.
The opening ceremony kicks off a top weekend of bowls at 10.45pm on the Saturday, with play getting unde rway at 11am on both dates.
Entry is free for all who wish to attend the finals, with the Castle found on Albion Street in Spalding.
Refreshments are available all day, with supporters urged to show their support for some of the top junior bowlers in the country.
There’s even a South Holland talent to root for, with Spalding IBC’s Jordan Philpott among those hoping to clinch the under-18 crown.
He’s hoping to go one better than last year, when he was agonisingly edged out in the under-18 final.
p Spalding Indoor Bowls Club’s County mixed league team enjoyed a fine win on home soil last weekend.
Playing against Lincoln A on Sunday, February 15, they stormed to victories on all rinks, taking 18 points from a 123-67 shot victory.
Top rink was Edna Perkins, who stepped in at last moment, Vera Elms, Mick Dolton and skip Maurice Elding.
Next up for Spalding is the reverse fixture away at Lincoln on March 8.
