Donington students put skills into internet safety posters

Pupils took part in a poster competition to raise awareness of Internet Safety Day.

During their personal development lessons, pupils at Donington’s Thomas Cowley High School looked at ways to keep themselves safe online.

PSHE co-ordinator Clytie Smith said: “As social media is such an integral part of young people’s lives today, it is vital that they understand where the potential dangers may lie.”
She organised the poster competition and said the standard of entries was very high.

The final winners were Magda Batko (Year 7), Callum Barnes (Year 8), Leah Hall (Year 9) and Kent Villarin (Year 10).
Each won a £20 Amazon voucher, as well as having their poster displayed in school.
Overall winner of the competition was Charlotte Dyson-Wood in Year 7, whose design will be framed and a copy of it has been printed onto a canvas to be displayed in the school’s reception. Charlotte also won a £50 Amazon voucher.
