Major plan for successful Spalding herb grower to relocate

The continuing success story of a Spalding herb grower established in 2008 has led to plans to relocate.

JVG Herbs Ltd, based at Bridge Farm in Horseshoe Road, wants to move to purpose-built premises at Delph Road, Pode Hole, enabling it to meet increasing customer demand and expand further in the future. The firm supplies supermarkets including Aldi and Netto.

Lincoln building designer Siddle Grimley Hage Ltd said: “The business continues to expand and based on the applicant’s current projections the existing facility would not be able to meet the existing customer’s requirements within the next 18 months.
“The Bridge Farm site is land-locked and has no further room for expansion of the glasshouse facilities, to meet this increasing demand.”

It said the development would safeguard existing jobs and enable an increase in future.

Plans for the new site next to Black House Farm include a glasshouse 140m wide and eventually 237m long, offices, despatch building, a new road junction and an access bridge over drains.
The application is being considered by South Holland District Council.
