Kitchen cleans up

All but one of the weekend’s cricket games were called off, but that didn’t stop Moulton Harrox’s Sunday side and their batsman Jamie Kitchen in particular.
He hit a brilliant 101 not out in a seven-wicket win in the Rutland Sunday League Division Four East against Ufford Park 2nd XI.
He carried his bat and scored more than two-thirds of Moulton’s runs while chasing down the home side’s 141 for 9 from 40 overs.
Fellow opener Lewis Peak was out early for one but Joseph Broomfield (25) and Ruari Drumm (15) stuck around with Kitchen as the win was secured in the 27th over with a huge Kitchen six.
Earlier in the day, Ufford were restricted by Moulton’s bowlers with Anish Suwarmarej particularly excelling, taking 4 for 29.
Harry Lovell’s seven overs went for 1 for 14, Broomfield claimed 1 for 11, Zak Maddison took 1 for 25 and Cameron Fox 1 for 23.
Opening the bowling, Kitchen too bowled six overs which only went for 14 runs.
Elsewhere it was a complete wash out with all of the games in all of the leagues falling victim to the rain on Saturday.
