Get into the swing of town tennis club

Youngsters after an ace time can swing by Spalding Town Tennis Club.

The club’s Junior Summer Camps return on Wednesday August 16, 23 and 30 at their base in Holyrood Walk, off Clay Lake, Spalding, PE11 2RY.
Each session runs from 10am to 2pm and is open to both members and non-members aged between five and 16.
Reservations can be made for one, two, or all three dates (subject to availability).
The cost per session is £18 for members and £25 for non-members.
To reserve a place or for further information, please contact [email protected].
Children should also take suitable snacks, refreshments or a packed lunch as well as sunscreen where necessary and be dressed in appropriate attire and footwear for sport/tennis.
Meanwhile, one of the club’s young stars made waves at the recent Cromer Open.
Hayden Bingham teamed up with Seth Briggs-Williams in the competition’s Grade Three category.
They came up against the tournament favourites Ethan Terry and Ben Collingworth at the quarter final stage beating them in a close game.
Bingham and Briggs-Williams won the first set 7-5, lost the second narrowly 5-7 but came back to win the second 10-7.
They did though lose out in the semi finals despite a tight battle.
A spokesman for Spalding Tennis Club commented: “It was a great week at Cromer and Hayden and Seth played a really high level of tennis.”
