Thousands enjoy country show

Around 4,000 people descended on Holbeach at the weekend to enjoy the annual Town and Country Fayre.

Held at a new venue off Hurdletree Bank, the event has been hailed a “brilliant success” by organisers.
Attractions over the weekend included classic tractors, steam engines, performances by the Rockets motorcycle stunt team, a range of stalls and a flypast by the Lancaster and Spitfire Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Committee deputy chairman Barry Disdel said the event was a huge success and is getting bigger and better every year.
Over the weekend he made a special presentation to Jonathan Putterill in memory of his late father Mick, who had attended every show.
Although some charity donations are expected to be made, the show is raising funds to allow it to continue in the future.
Mr Disdel added: “It gets more expensive to run it every year, so we use the money we raise to ensure it’s future.”
