The Long Sutton Men’s Shed innovative entry was one of the highlights of the Spalding Flower Parade wowing the crowds with six working wooden automaton figures illustrating some of the work being undertaken at the shed.
The float figures were surrounded by colourful wooden flowers in wooden garden flower troughs.
A shed spokesman said: “We’d like to thank Steve Timewell and his fantastic team of volunteers for a magnificent event and we’re looking to be in next year’s parade on May 11, 2024.
“The Men’s Shed Float was generously sponsored by several South Holland District Councillors and three local parish councils Sutton Bridge, Lutton and Tydd St Mary for which, many thanks.
“The ‘Mobile Shed’ was very well supported by the massive crowd lining the whole route around Spalding.
“Thanks must be given to Barry Meade, one of the Shed’s founder members and his team of Shed volunteers.
“We now have over 100 fully paid up (£10 per year) and welcome new members, based at Silverwood, St James Road (B1390) just off the A17 Long Sutton by-pass and open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings 9.30am to 12.30pm.
