Red Wine Writers release Plonk

Seven writers based in the Fens are releasing their first anthology of short stories and poems in time for Christmas.

The Red Wine Writers’ book Plonk will be launched on Tuesday at Bookmark, Spalding.

Plonk’s seven authors meet every month over a bottle of wine to criticise, edit and argue about the short stories and poems they’ve produced.

Many of the 21 stories and three poems are set around the fenland towns of Spalding, Wisbech and King’s Lynn, and the theme is the group’s tipple of choice.

Everyone is welcome to meet the Red Wine Writers – Mark Badham-Moore, Jane Crane, Christine Dickinson, Adrian Lazell, Terry Martin, Siân Thomas and Julie Williams – at Bookmark in The Crescent, from 7.15pm on Tuesday.

Tickets cost £3.50 and include a glass of wine (red, naturally) or fruit juice, short readings from Plonk, and a q&a session.

If you can’t get to the launch, copies of Plonk can be purchased for £7.99 at Bookmark or at the same price from the publisher’s website www.murkydepths.co.uk with free packaging and postage.
