Former surgery set for reopening

The old Pennygate Surgery is reopening as Beechfield West this weekend.

It closed on September 7, 2018 after previous owner of the then standalone practice Dr Nathu retired.
Its 3,000 patients were transferred to a specially set up Spalding Surgery at the town’s Johnson Hospital.
That was initially temporary, though it was extended for two extra years.
Last year it was announced that was closing leading to a scramble to reallocate the patients.
As a result Munro Medical Centre has reopened Pinchbeck Surgery with Beechfield reopening Pennygate and taking on its running.
It opens this Saturday (April 15) with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a chance for local people to have a look at the newly renovated Beechfield West surgery.
A spokesman for Beechfield said: “Since the closure of the former Pennygate Health Centre on the same site, the building has been empty and unused and it has been our privilege to breathe a new lease of life in to the building to re-open it as our branch site.
“We have made some minor internal layout changes to allow us to fully utilise the space and have brought the building up to date in other areas in order to be able to offer the best quality of service to our patients.
“We look forward to offering residents on the west side of the town a more convenient location to access medical services and hope to be able to expand the range of services we offer at both sites over the coming year.
“Patients will not be registered with the Beechfield West site separately, as all patients registered at Beechfield Medical Centre will have access to services across both sites, and all appointments for Beechfield West must be pre-booked and will be subject to availability.
“All enquires, bookings and queries should be made through the main site and accessed as usual either online via our website or by telephone on 01775 724088.
“We’d also like to thank all of the local business and organisations that have worked with us over the duration of the project to make this possible.”
Dr Babu and Dr Khan, partners at Beechfield Medical Centre, said in a statement: “We are honoured to be able to re-open the site under the Beechfield name and bring it back to life for the local community.
“The practice is looking forward to being able to expand the range of services that we offer to our patients with this additional site.”
Saturday’s event takes place between 10am and 2pm.
Those attending are asked be mindful that parking on site may be limited and to be considerate of neighbours.
