Spalding library’s first floor will be closed at the end of the month as part of an improvements programme.
The facility will be fully closed from Monday, March 6 to Saturday, March 11 to allow work to replace the carpet.
In advance of the full-week closure, customers can borrow additional items and return dates will be amended so fines aren’t issued.
“Closing the library in never an easy decision and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused, but due to the disruption this essential work will cause, it just cannot be avoided.
“During the closure of the first floor, the team will do their best to retrieve urgently required items on customers’ behalf, provided it is safe to do so.
“For the full closure we are making sure that no items out on loan are due back during the closure and look forward to welcoming our customers back on Monday, March 13,” said library manager Amanda Reynolds.
“During the closure, no-one need run out of reading material as through our digital library you can access over 30,000 free eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines and eNewspapers which are free to use with a library card.”
The work will see the creation of a dedicated meeting room on the first floor along with the new carpets being laid throughout.
