In the last two weeks children at Ayscoughfee Hall School have been really busy trying to help others.

Children wore pink and sold cakes and loom band bracelets which they had made on Pink Day raising £348 for breast cancer research.

They have been making shoeboxes full of gifts to send abroad to children less fortunate as part of Operation Christmas Child and have already made 61 shoeboxes.

They collected money for the Royal British Legion by buying poppies and other items to support soldiers injured in wars.

For Children in Need, they wore silly ties and socks plus anything Pudsey. Elite Sports Academy joined in as well and went in to school to give each class a fun session in fencing or multi sports.

The children and staff raised £120.

Headteacher Clare Ogden said: “The children love raising money for others and always give generously.”
