Mick Johnson is once again setting the standard in the Spalding and District Billiards League.
The Consti B cue ace, who plays off a whopping O170 handicap, made a stunning 108 break in Monday’s 5-2 victory at second-placed Consti A.
Johnson’s century surpasses the 80 break he made earlier this term and is the new benchmark for others to target.
His heroics sealed a hard-fought team victory, which also saw Chris English (R90) deliver a narrow frame win over Consti’s Robert Adams (R40).
Leaders Long Sutton bagged another victory as they dispatched Pyramid B 5-2.
Mick Cooper (O40) got them off to a strong start as he reeled off breaks of 53, 30, 25 (twice) and 20 en route to winning the first frame, before Adam Barwell (O10) sunk a super 48 to help him seal success in the second.
Darrell Read (R40) did win the last frame for the Bourne side, making a 21 break in the process.
Elsewhere, Holbeach A edged past Gosberton 4-3 in the tightest game of the week.
A 58 break from Hugh Pinner (O170) wasn’t enough to help him see off Malc Dennis (R110) in the first frame, but Des Forbes (R50) and Alan Yardley (R10) – who made a 23 break – won the final two frames to haul Holbeach over the line.
Consti C continue to go great guns after picking up a 5-2 success against friendly foes Consti D.
Stewart Davies (R20) nailed a 22 break for the D side in the opening frame, but came up short against Pat Bowman (R100) 200-193.
Jason Rose (R50) then took the second frame to seal the win for the C side, before Alan Hansard (R70) recorded a win in the final frame to give Consti D two points.
