LETTERS – Crowland would benefit

I recently attended an open meeting of the Crowland Parish Council and I was interested to see a plan for a new pavilion to replace the current facility.

Proposals have been put forward by the CPC for a new facility that would serve the community of Crowland much better than the current outdated one that is quickly becoming unfit for purpose.

As a resident of Crowland I feel the town is crying out for a new development that would bring a myriad of opportunities to enhance and grow the healthy future of the town.

With the recent development of houses bringing more families into our community, the town would certainly benefit from a facility that could serve wedding receptions, sports club functions, private functions, concerts, exhibitions, meetings, local and national election polling stations and much more.

Village halls and town halls often provide the only place to meet within a rural community, providing vital and diverse support to improve quality of life, particularly for those who are least able to travel to more distant centres of activity.

With local authorities asking people what they would like to see levelling up funding spent on, I along with many other residents would like to see Crowland given a chance to have a community hub that would give residents a multi-purpose facility for the long-term future of Crowland town.
