The Whaplode restaurant which was smashed into by an articulated lorry two months ago is expected to reopen early in 2015.
Building work to restore Spice Cottage could get under way in the next couple of weeks.
Restaurant owner Vela Miah said: “We’re waiting for the insurance firm to deal with the claim but we’re hoping building work will commence very soon.
“Hopefully it will be open again in the new year.”
The crash on August 25 caused so much damage that it was feared the building in High Road might have to be pulled down.
However, Mr Miah confirmed that the restaurant would be rebuilt exactly as it was and its four full-time staff would return.
The 69-year-old lorry driver, from Spalding, involved has since undergone a heart bypass operation.
Philip Hilton, managing director of Baston firm Hilton’s Distribution said: “The investigation showed that the accident was caused by the driver suffering a mild heart attack, so there was no further action taken against either him or us.”
Mr Miah said he was glad to hear the driver was making good progress.
