Seven-up Brennans pile on the pain in the rain

Torrential rain and break neck wind wasn’t enough to stop all teams turning up and playing on another wet and windy night at the Spalding 6-a-side Leisure League.

For the second week in a row, Brennans Sports got the action underway in Division One as they brushed aside Simple FC 7-0 at Surfleet’s Glen Park.

Matthew Cannon made all the difference as man of the match (MOTM).

Match two saw current league leaders Polishborough throw away their first point of the season and lose their 100 per cent record with a 2-2 draw against fellow Europeans Baltic United.

Edgaras Buzas won his third man MOTM for the season for Baltic.

The third game was the most one-sided of the evening as EPH Allstars gained an impressive 8-0 win over Balotellitubbies.

Star man was the Allstars’ Joe Lewsey.

The top tier action finished with a fiery win for Punchbowl Tigers as they condemned Univeg Team to a 3-1 defeat.

Jamie Stonebridge got the nod as MOTM.

The second tier got under way with Dynamo Kiev beating Luis Suarez Ate My Hamster 5-1.

The result sees Dynamo keep up the pressure on the top, with James Gilbert named as star man.

Next up was an entertaining 0-0 draw as Old Boy Coaches were somehow held by Class On Grass. Keeper Jamie Wroniak got MOTM for his fantastic work between the sticks.

Game three was 5-2 win for Le Saux Solid Crew over Mail Carters, with a man of the match performance for losing keeper Dave Nixon who was in fine form despite the scoreline.

Last up was another close gameas Posh Old Boys remained unbeaten and moved three points clear at the top after squeezing past Sarah’s Boys 2-1.
